Hello

I have had an annoying 'inflammatory' type rash on my face since i've had RA. Is this something that is commonly associated with RA?

I wish it would go away Blushing
RA diagnosed in June 2011.

Previous history of Wegeners Granulomatosis since 1995.

Current meds: Mycophenalate 2000mg daily, Prednisalone 40mg, - waiting to start ANTI TNF.

I have had lots of little red broken blood vessels on my face and inside my mouth since I had RA and also a rash on my eyelids and cheeks. I'm not sure if this is due to RA though as my consultant suspects I have an overlap disorder too. Naomi X

hi

I also have lots of tiny broken blood vessels on my face (mainly around my cheeks) and it always looks more obvious and starts to go blotch when I feel really I'll and in pain. Also my left eyelid puffs up when this gets worse. Plus I also get a lot of rashes on my hands and wrists when I am in a lot of pain.

Not sure if this is RA related or not.

HI Cosmic, What's you name Smile

I'm Lorna, I have had RA for just over 4 years now. The rash could be your body getting used to the drugs you now take. I had a rash everywhere when I first started the triple therapy. I was told to stop all and re start slowly but all settled down after that. Get advice from your doctor or consultant then you should settle down. It could also be due to a flare up, your skin can go red and inflamed when the flare up is bad.

Don't despair it will get easier to deal with. Do a little each day and rest in between until you get on top of things. Always remember to pace yourself, easier said than done I know. Keep posting.

Take care Lorna x

Hi

Just picked up on your post. I have rosacea which is a red rash on the face. It is exacerbated by steroids and I notice you are on prednisalone. Worth getting it checked out as, although it can't be cured, it is treatable. The cold, spicy food, medications, skin care etc can all make it flare.
